The job involved designing the characters, 3D modeling, rigging, look development, lighting, as well as the 3D animation, compositing with live-action footage, and VFX for the complete scene featuring the boy and his mom.
Character design
The characters were created from scratch, which is always a very enjoyable and fun process. They had to be simple in shape and quickly readable. Youthful but not too childish, with a teen attitude and "personality".
Video game GUI
In addition, there was some 2D work involved, including designing the video game interface and animating the avatar selection process.
